Carla Evans

Having been a support person for clients who attended the center, she grew to love the organization before working here. Her quiet way with people and her determination to keep Five Star Center growing strong makes her the perfect person to lead us into our second half century.

Carla said that he seemed to understand Five Star like no one else she interviewed for the development job. He understands the importance of non-profits and the good they do. He admits to having benefited from them when he was a child in his birth country. Victor is working diligently to raise money and build partnerships to support our programs and keep our clients living the lives they deserve.Gabrielle Meyer
Director of Client Engagementgmeyer@5starcc.org314-664-1008 ext 106 Gabrielle was practically born at Five Star Center. At 6 weeks old, she started hanging out with her grandmother, Jeanette Dowd who was good friends with founder Betty Howard. After graduating with her Masters in Social Work, she chose to carry on her grandmother’s legacy by applying for her first job here. Gabrielle’s enthusiam is infectious and spurs both clients and staff to experience things they may never have before. Her monthly field trips open up a new world to our seniors who never got the chance to see how candy is made, see the eagles in Alton, or even go to the zoo. Gabrielle reaches out to our community partners, like the Cardinals’, Battlehawks, and assorted museums, to negotiate affordable opportunities for our seniors to get out of their homes and experience the world. Gabrielle refers to the center as “Year-long Summer Camp for Your Grandparents”. What else is there to say?Belinda Johnson
Director of Data Managementbjohnson@5starcc.org314-664-1008 ext 103Belinda is known by the rest of the staff as “The Chaos Coordinator”. She keeps the data inline and on point. She has been with Five Star for more than 8 years and has done almost every job in the center. She started out delivering meals and has made her way to data management. She keeps the SLAAA billing straight, the meals ordered and the rest of us on our toes. We couldn’t make it work this well without her, and we don’t plan on trying.
Raymond Sutton
Head of Transportationrsutton@5starcc.org314-664-1008Raymond is our longest running employee. To say he loves his job is a total understatement. Raymond’s caring professionalism and his ability to make every client feel important and at ease, is what puts him above the rest in his field. He has a dedication to the center and what we do that is inspiring to all who work with him. He leads the transportation team with his strong work ethic and a lot of humor. Raymond gives credit to his amazing hardworking mother and his beloved mentor Millie Slack.
